Fridays at Continental Tide are casual dress days for all employees, including office personnel. A few Virginia Beach employees (pictured above) chose a “bright” approach to close out their week. Looks like summer is almost here, and Continental Tide is ready!
Mr. Garland "Rusty" Bourgeois is our Employee of the Month for December. Mr. Bourgeois was instrumental leading Continental Tide personnel executing repairs to key Cargo and Weapons Handling equipment. Mr. Bourgeois and his fellow Continental Tide employees cleared a number of CASREPS during December, providing a huge boost to the Fleet!
Mr. Cedrick Clayton is our Employee of the Month for October. During the month of October and throughout the entire year Mr. Clayton provided our team with outstanding financial leadership and direction. He has been instrumental in formulating our billing and receiving processes which have resulted in fiscal stability and successful execution across multiple contracts including our new Seaport Contract award (EHP1).
Mr. Valentine Cortazzo is our Employee of the Month for November. Below is an excerpt from his recognition letter written by Mr. Mcmillan:
Below is an excerpt from Mr. Ronald McMillan regarding your efforts. We couldn't have written it better ourselves.
This is a request for Valentine Cortazzo to be named employee of the month and the reasons why. These bullets span the months of October and November.
· Prefab and welded new power panel in load center 31 switchboard room
· Prefab and welded foundation for bypass switches
· Prefab and welded under deck stiffeners in engine room
· Rip out lube oil foundation and ground flush the remaining welds
· Sand blasted all fittings and that were rusted and deemed unusable and returned them to usable condition, saving thousands of dollars in reordering material
This list of bullets shows not only his skills, but also his willingness to take on any task required. No task is to menial or insignificant, every job he is assigned to is given the same degree of importance and done with the same level of professionalism. He is always professional in appearance and speech. He constantly displays a “can do” attitude which makes working with him a pleasure. He gladly assists anyone with any tasking and is routinely willing to teach less experienced personnel. He is the consummate example of a team player and is always willing to go above and beyond in any situation. For these reasons I nominate Val Cortazzo as employee of the month. - R. McMillan
Mr. Michael Byrnes, pictured here with Keith Reidinger (President) is our latest Employee of the Month (September). Mr. Byrnes displayed quick response and turn around time for submitting purchase orders to vendors, and outstanding support to Continental Tide Logistics and Project Execution teams onboard USS Boxer, USS Harpers Ferry and USS Blue Ridge.
