Intern in Engineering – Overboard Discharge Project

Christopher Leinbach worked as an engineering intern at our Reading, PA office during the first three weeks in January.  During that time, he was very involved in a prototype development project within the Engineering Department, overseen by one of our lead engineers, Edward Kabak.  The project was to prototype, test, and document a technique for cleaning and preserving overboard discharge drains aboard some US Navy vessels. 

Christopher’s contributions were many, including modifying the prototype apparatus, purchasing some of the materials used for the testing, documenting the parts and tools used, writing the draft procedure, and writing the engineering report that outlined the equipment and lessons learned.
