Safety is and always will be Job#1 at Continental Tide. Just ask Brandon Phillips, Contintental Tide’s Safety Manager at UC San Diego.
Phillips, one of UC San Diego’s OSHA Training Institute Education Center (OTIEC) extension instructors, was among six instructors featured in Safety Source magazine.
The article states “NAVSEA, which directs the design, construction, and maintenance of U.S. Navy ships, now requires every worker on its contracts to receive basic Occupational Health and Safety (OSHA) training. And UC San Diego’s OSHA Training Institute Education Center (OTIEC) serves as the mothership, if you will, for this massive education effort.”

Continental Tide Defense Systems, Inc. was awarded a five (5) year Multiple Award contract supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Philadelphia Division. The contracted work will focus on coordination and planning of all the engineering and technical support services for Hull, Deck, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) machinery and systems.
The engineering and technical support services will be accomplished in all areas where Foreign Military, U.S. Navy, and MSC ships operate and are homeported. These services will be accomplished in whole or in phases that minimize interruption in ship operating schedules while maximizing the capacity of Type Commander and NAVSEA agencies to upgrade and modernize systems.
Continental Tide Defense Systems, Inc. was recently awarded a contract from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) for Pier Side Technical Assistance.
The scope of work includes technical services, labor, material, support services and equipment to accomplish a full range of depot level repairs and alterations, troubleshooting, maintenance, installation, and removal of main and auxiliary, hull, mechanical and electrical (HM&E) equipment and systems onboard U.S. Navy or other military type vessels including submarines.
Continental Tide is extremely excited about this opportunity to continue to support MARMC and looks forward to future successes.
